Colleen McCulloch-Learch - Senior Research Analyst

Colleen McCulloch-Learch is a Senior Research Analyst with Edge Research, located in Arlington, VA and Baltimore, MD. With over a decade of experience in Survey Research, Colleen has designed, executed and analyzed custom research studies for a diverse group of clients in corporate, non-profit, media and public affairs sectors. These clients include California Dental Association, University of Maryland Medical Association, AARP, Fox News.com, ESPN.com, Seaweb, US Foodservice, Sprint-Nextel and various communications and strategy firms.

A skilled focus group moderator and in-depth interviewer, Colleen particularly enjoys leveraging qualitative tools and techniques to generate invaluable insights for research stakeholders. Colleen is respected for her ability to moderate a wide range of audience groups, sometimes under sensitive circumstances. She is skilled at relating to participants and building a level of trust and comfort that allows the participant to express their true opinions. “My participants are like guests in my home,” she says. “I am glad they came, it’s my pleasure to make them comfortable, and I want to learn as much about them as I can during their visit.”

Colleen firmly believes that the best research is generated from a well-composed, comprehensive research program that takes in to account both the dynamics of the population being studied, and the overall business objectives of the client. “I approach every project as a new initiative,” she says. “Even if I’ve done it before, the project always deserves a fresh look to make sure the methodology fits need.”

Prior to joining the Edge team, Colleen served as Senior Research Associate for GfK Custom Research Inc, where she was located on a client site full time, providing support for a large-scale corporate satisfaction and preference study for Capital One. She has also served as Director of Research at the polling company™, and worked for both the Marist Institute for Public Opinion and the Center for Survey Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut. In addition to her client based work, she also is an adjunct professor of Survey Research Methods at York College in Queens.

Colleen currently holds memberships in the American Marketing Association (AMA) and the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA). She has undergone professional focus group training at the RIVA Institute in Maryland.

Raised in Staten Island, New York, Colleen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Marist College, and a Masters Degree in Political Science with a concentration in Survey Research from The University of Connecticut. She currently lives in Arlington VA, with her husband and two dogs, Bruschi and Kodi.
